Extended to 2030. Since 28 April 2026 a valid EPC is no longer a requirement. Scotland and Northern Ireland run their own separate schemes.
The uplift requires the property to be heated by oil or LPG and to have no mains gas connection. Heating with oil does not on its own mean off-grid — GrantCheck asks about the gas connection separately, so nobody is quoted £9,000 who cannot get it.
